Your West End Conservative Action Team is out on the doorsteps every week listening to local people.
This month, we have spoken to lots of people who live in Holcroft Court in Fitzrovia.
The block is owned and managed by Westminster City Council.
West End Conservative Action Team member Elizabeth Gallagher said:
“Residents in Holcroft Court have told us that they are grateful for the help and support they have received from Nickie Aiken, MP, especially in relation to difficulties obtaining an ESW1 Form. However, residents also said that they feel forgotten by the Labour-run Council. They told us that the block is poorly maintained and poorly managed, with drug dealing and anti-social behaviour going unchecked, and pest infestations and broken rubbish chutes not being dealt with expeditiously. We could also see the dilapidated state of the building for ourselves: for example, we found a live electrical cable running across one of the lift lobbies. The cable was attached to the wall with nothing more than black tape and it posed a serious hazard. Residents in Holcroft Court deserve so much better.”
The waste chutes in Blocks A & B Holcroft Court have been shut down for two months due to awaiting parts and this now means all bags of waste have to be put not the street which makes life difficult for disabled people. The service charge has gone up £1,000 but the service has gone down. Trees in the courtyard are like a forest as they are not being maintained.
