Plans to develop the area around Baker Street will benefit residents, tourists and local businesses, Regent's Park Councillor Robert Rigby said today.
The Business Improvement District (BID) scheme developed by the Baker Street Quarter aims to create a better environment with high quality public realm and cleaner streets, especially around Baker Street Station. Local businesses voted to support the plans in February 2013 and now over 160 local businesses are part of the BID.
Details in the proposals include pedestrian barriers, redesigning the dropping off point and upgrade of the Baker Street underpass.
Cllr Robert Rigby said: "The plans are exciting and will lead to a much more pleasant experience for all who use our vibrant area."
