Last week, people across Westminster went to the polls to decide our new Council.
I am devastated we were unable to return a Conservative majority to City Hall. We could have barely got closer. If fewer than 100 people had voted differently, we could have retained control.
I’m proud of the record Westminster Conservatives have of delivering for our City, the positive vision that we set out for its future and the campaign that we fought to implement it. Sadly, the result was not the one we were hoping for.
I am particularly sorry for those Councillors who stood for re-election and lost their seats. Every one of them have been dedicated servants to their communities.
If you gave us your support in last week’s election: Thank you. We don’t take your support for granted.
If you chose not to for whatever reason, we hope that you will consider doing so in future.
Westminster Conservatives will continue to provide a strong local voice for local people, businesses, residents’ associations and amenity societies across our City, holding Labour’s City Hall administration to account.
We are determined to take back City Hall in four years’ time.
The work to do so starts now.
