Update from your Abbey Road Councillors

Representatives from the St John’s Wood Society plus Councillors from Abbey Road and Regent’s Park attended the breaking ground event for the St John's Wood Barracks development.

The St John’s Wood Square project has opened a consultation office at 1 Queen’s Terrace, NW8 6DX, and will be holding regular community sessions to update residents on how the development is progressing.  So far everything is almost going to plan with the demolition part finishing in March.  A slight delay has occurred as they found bats nesting in the Officer’s mess and they can’t be moved to a new home until they wake up!!  The developers also announced the setting up of a Heritage Group to record any memories residents or past employees may have of the barracks.  Anyone who has stories, photos or video of the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery and would like to share them please contact howard@sjwsservices.com.

In the meantime, if anyone wishes to know more they are encouraging residents to visit their HQ to review the plans and drawings or visit online at www.thestjohnswoodsquareproject.com.
