West End Action Team: The impact of late licences on quality of life of local people

People living in the West End are concerned when restaurants and other licensed premises look to extend their opening hours or apply for late licences, as this can impact on their quality of life. We spoke with community activist and West End Council Candidate Julie Redmond outside 50 Dean Street. Julie explains

I'm outside 50 Dean Street. I've been contacted by residents with regards to the new application for a late bar in this establishment, previously a restaurant and now a late bar.

Soho has dealt with so much noise and noise pollution over the last couple of years and we need to listen to residents and this is what I am doing, so I will be objecting to this late bar. There are too many residents in Romilly Street and Dean Street that will be affected by this noise.
