The next generation

A good education is vital for our children but it is also important to help them become responsible citizens, build life skills and prepare for the work place. We are fortunate that Westminster is home to some of the country’s biggest employers, top institutions and iconic cultural and sporting establishments. That is why Westminster Conservatives have launched the Council’s CityLions Programme aimed at 13-16 year olds. Developed with our Youth Council, the programme will generate work experience, volunteering opportunities as well as exclusive access to cultural institutions. We want to help our young people have the best possible start in life.

This year we also launched our campaign to encourage good dental care among our 0-7 year olds, including an animation film and quiz, and a free dental pack for all under fives.

Our pupils achieve some of the best GCSEs and A Level results in London. All but one of our Secondary Schools are Ofsted rated Good or Outstanding. All our Primary Schools are rated Good or Outstanding.

Our Integrated Gangs Unit is highly regarded across the capital and beyond. We will safeguard our award-winning Your Choice Programme, which supports the small number of our young people who find themselves in trouble turn their lives around.

Pledge: We will continue to deliver ‘Outstanding’ Children’s Services

Pledge: We will expand our City Lions Programme
