Revealed: Labour plans to increase parking charges for electric vehicles by 1,800%

Labour-run Westminster council are proposing a massive tax hike on electric vehicle (EV) drivers as they increase parking charges by up to 1,800%

Particularly hard hit will be tradespeople and small businesses who have done the right thing by switching to EVs and will now see charges increase by up to £35/day from the £1.93/day currently charged.

These higher fees will inevitably be passed on to local people when they need to call a plumber or an electrician.

It’s not good for business, it’s not good for climate change and it’s not good for residents.

We are very concerned about this.

We fear that the environmental goals will not be achieved as the incentive to go green, and the cost difference between parking a petrol vehicle and an electric vehicle will be reduced.

We are keen to hear your views, too.
