Tim Mitchell has lived and worked in Westminster for over 30 years and is a self-employed computer consultant. He was first elected to Westminster City Council in May 1998 and has represented St. James’s since May 2002.

An active member of the St James's area community, he serves on the committees of several local groups including Covent Garden’s Jubilee Hall Trust and the Abbey Community Centre.

He has had experience of every part of the Council. Presently, Tim is Deputy Leader of the Opposition and sits on the Children & Adults, Public Health & Voluntary Sector Policy and Scrutiny Committee.

Our local MP Nickie Aiken has secured Government support for her pedicabs licensing scheme.

This will provide TfL with the powers to regulate pedicabs, ensuring that they are safe, that their fares are reasonable, and that rogue operators are appropriately disciplined.

In St James, in May, trustees of the G-A-Y Foundation and London Landmarks Half Marathon planted an evergreen magnolia in Embankment Gardens alongside the race route to commemorate the contribution of the LGBT+ running community.

During the spring local businesses and residents in the St Martin's Lane area highlighted the problems to the St James's Councillors, caused by large walking tour groups with the pavements being obstructed and creating a noise nuisance by using loud hailers.

The Prime Minister hosted a party in Downing Street for volunteers, Ukrainian refugees, and youth group members along with special guest US First Lady Jill Biden.
