In December, despite not having any data for congestion on the streets of Westminster, the Labour administration pushed ahead with the decision to increase parking charges under the pretence that it was to reduce congestion rather than a stealth tax to raise millions of pounds for the council.

We spoke with Cllr Paul Swaddle, the new Leader of the Conservative Group at Westminster City Council, about his priorities.

Conservative councillors in Westminster have selected Councillor Paul Swaddle OBE to become the new Leader of the Westminster Council Conservative Group.

We caught up with Cities of London & Westminster MP Nickie Aiken and Conservative Party Chairman Richard Holden MP in Pimlico today.

Two Cities MP, Nickie Aiken, spoke out in the Commons with the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak MP, following Labour-run Westminster City Council's plan to increase parking charges for electric vehicles by 1800%.

In the Commons, Nickie explained,

Westminster city council’s new rules will see an eight-hour stay cost £36.96 – an 1,800 per cent increase on £1.93 motorists currently pay

Electric vehicle owners in central London are set to be charged extra to park under new rules being brought in by a Labour council.

Cllrs Robathan and Hitchcock joined Nickie Aiken MP at a meeting with the Belgravia Neighbourhood Forum to discuss the Plan for Belgravia.

The Council and TfL are determined to go ahead with changes to Lambeth Bridge at great cost. 

Among other things, our much loved local date palm will be dug up and moved to Churchill Gardens; we think it should stay local, say in Millbank Gardens.
