Hanging baskets on the High Street in Regents Park

Hanging baskets are bringing colour to our High Street.

With the ongoing public realm works on our High Street we are doing all we can to minimise the disruption.

Hopefully however residents will have noticed the hanging baskets in full bloom, helping to bring a little colour. 

Adventure Play Hub Launch

The Adventure Play Hub, St John’s Wood Terrace held a summer reception on 13 July to celebrate the official opening of its new playground.

House of Fraser Demolition on Victoria Street

Thank you to residents rightly kicking up a fuss on everyone’s behalf such is the noise from the demolition. 

Living next to a major building project is uncomfortable but should not be unbearable. We continue to pressure the developer a to respect residents and pipe down!  

Progress on Pedicabs

Our local MP Nickie Aiken has secured Government support for her pedicabs licensing scheme.

This will provide TfL with the powers to regulate pedicabs, ensuring that they are safe, that their fares are reasonable, and that rogue operators are appropriately disciplined.

The Labour administration have effectively put housing into special measures because standards have declined across the board since they took over last year.

Supporting the most vulnerable

Westminster suffers a particularly acute challenge in terms of the number of people sleeping rough. Indeed, 20% of all rough sleepers in London are in our City and on any given night 200+ people will sleep rough on our streets. This is more than double the next highest local authority.

Flooding Risk in St James

Over the last decade, homes and other buildings in the streets near Westminster Abbey, in St James, have suffered severe flooding on at least two occasions.

Launch of HVO trains at Marylebone

On Thursday 27 July, Chiltern Railways launched its first green diesel Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) powered train from Marylebone Station.  

The event was attended by key stakeholder including residents, Cllr Rigby, Nickie Aiken MP and the Chiltern Railways team.
