The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, supported by the new Westminster Labour City Hall administration, is planning to cut and make changes to 78 bus routes across London.
It's important that everyone gets involved to register their concerns: Transport for London's consultation has been extended to 7 August.
The proposed cuts in our local area include routes 189, 113, 16, & 98. Many of us rely on these buses to get to work, to medical appointments, to school, to college or to the shops. The disruption will force people back to using cars, expensive taxis and private hire vehicles, or massively increased travel times using busier buses, with day-to-day commuters, disabled people and parents with pushchairs vying for limited space.
Your local councillors, Barbara, Ian and Karen, alongside your MP Nickie Aiken and Assembly Member Tony Devenish are all fighting these cuts.
It’s not true it’s about money. Transport for London has already received support throughout the pandemic totalling £5 billion, the largest single recipient of pandemic support across the transport sector. We urge you to have your say in the consultation.
