Meetings with Narrow Boat owners

Following a series of break-ins to a number of narrow boats on the Little Venice canal, Cllr Caplan organised a meeting with the local police and the Canal and River Trust. This was preceded by a walkabout along the canal to review the security of the site. 

Ebury Bridge Estate: More homes and Community spaces

Westminster Council is accelerating its home-building programme in Churchill Ward with Phase 1 of Ebury Bridge estate renewal set to deliver 216 flats, including 130 replacement social rent homes.

Nine Elms Bridge update

Wandsworth Council has come up with proposals to land the Nine Elms-Pimlico bridge on Grosvenor Road, near Churchill Gardens estate. Westminster City Council opposes this plan, especially given widespread concerns and objections raised by local people.

The Prince of Wales formally opens Cleveland Place

The public realm scheme at the junction of St James’s Street, Pall Mall and Cleveland Place was opened by Prince Charles on 4th March 2019. The public realm changes saw a new roundabout introduced and also extensive pavement and junction upgrades.

TfL announce Royal Oak no longer being considered for coach station

It is now fairly certain that the Dolphin Square planning application will be put before the Planning Committee by the end of April.

Sussex Gardens and Burwood Place made safer

Sussex Gardens is now safer for pedestrians and cyclists following the quietway and crossing works. We appreciate that there was some traffic disruption, not helped by Thames Water, but there has been a real improvement in safety as a result.

Update on tackling short lets around Hyde Park

Conservative led Westminster City Council is calling on the Government to introduce mandatory information sharing between councils and operators such as AirBNB, so that it can enforce the legal limit of 90 days a year for short lets.
