On Thursday 27 July, Chiltern Railways launched its first green diesel Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) powered train from Marylebone Station.
The event was attended by key stakeholder including residents, Cllr Rigby, Nickie Aiken MP and the Chiltern Railways team.
This launch means all Class 68s, currently the most pollutant have been modified, offering significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90%.
As the last diesel operator with a London terminus decarbonisation and improving the environmental credentials of its fleet is a key priority for Chiltern Railways.
