Don't miss out on the Lambeth Bridge Junction drop-in session. This issue effects local people living in St James's and Vincent Square.
Transport for London is writing to update local residents and businesses on their plans for works on the bridge and replacing the roundabout at the top of Horseferry Road with traffic signal-controlled pedestrian crossings.
This followed TfL's original consultation on changes to the junction 2017 and the publication of their final design in February 2020.
TfL are planning for works on the bridge to start spring to summer 2024.
Given the time since the consultation they are holding a drop-in session at which you can meet the project team to discuss the future changes.
This will take place on Tuesday 18 July 2023 – 5:30pm to 9pm – St Stephen’s Church, 38 to 42 Rochester Row, SW1P 1LE
St. James's councillor Mark Shearer says:
“Following a high number of serious accidents, especially involving cyclists, TFL are looking to improve the safety of this junction. We would welcome seeing many local residents respond to TFL’s consultation so they can understand local needs and also concerns when considering the next steps.”
Local people have expressed concern to us about the removal of the roundabout and the potential for traffic to be displaced onto nearby side streets.
